CBS Asks Harris If She Takes Threat of Trump Seriously Enough

CBS Face the Nation anchor Margaret Brennan sat down with Vice President Kamala Harris for an exclusive interview that lasted the entire first segment of her Sunday morning roundtable program. It was just as much of a softball interview as you’d imagine without having watched it. The worst moment came when Brennan showed her left-wing activist ankle show and asked Harris if she had taken the threat of a second Trump administration seriously enough. 

“Are you taking the threat of a second Trump presidency seriously enough?” Brennan asked Harris sincerely as if this was a serious and substantive question. Harris paused and started to speak before stopping herself and admitting she didn’t “understand the question.” 

Of course, Harris did in fact understand the question. Regardless, Brennan clarified what she was asking.

“You were dismissive of some of the Republican criticism of you and the President. When you look at current polling, the frontrunner for the Republican nomination is the former President, the 45th President,” Brennan said.

“We will win re-election. We will win re-election,” Harris insisted. “There is too much at stake and the American people know it.” That wasn’t the answer to Brennan’s question either yet she just left it at that and moved on.

In reality, asking Harris if she’s taking the “threat of a second Trump presidency seriously enough” is a biased question with a flawed premise. 

The question assumes people should treat a possible second Trump presidency as a threat worth taking seriously in the first place. Any of Brennan’s remaining conservative viewers tuned out after that question. 

Has Brennan ever asked a Republican guest if Americans are “taking the threat of a second Trump presidency seriously enough?” Many would argue that’s a much bigger threat to American liberties than another Trump term.
