Jason Miller Smacks Down Todd’s ‘Idiotic Question’ on Tucker/Trump Talk

News & Politics

During a special edition of Meet the Press on NBC News Now, anchor Chuck Todd decided to ask Trump campaign senior advisor Jason Miller if former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump were embracing the idea of violent conflict during a sitdown chat between the two on Twitter. Miller didn’t take Todd’s biased questioning lying down and told Todd he was “framing it incorrectly” and that it was “an idiotic question.”

“I want to ask you about this questioning from Tucker Carlson. I guess sort of—talking up the idea of a violent—some sort of violent conflict over this campaign,” Todd proclaimed. “Is that something the former President is embracing?”

Miller told Todd the answer was no and that “I think you are framing it incorrectly.”

“Respectfully that’s an idiotic question to even go in,” Miller added.

Continuing to answer Todd, Miller explained “President Trump is campaigning on making America great again. We saw the greatest economy that we’ve had in a century, possibly ever when President Trump was in office. He makes it very clear he has more policy videos on his website. He gives speeches, he gives detailed interviews, he takes on the tough battles with tough reporters. He’s actually doing it.”

“President Trump looked like a genius by skipping the pig pile tonight and instead doing the interview with Tucker Carlson which by the way Chuck, just hit 87 million views,” Miller added in reference to the number of viewers the Tucker-Trump video received.

As of publication, the video has over 107 million views on the social platform.

CHUCK TODD: I want to ask you about this questioning from Tucker Carlson. I guess sort of—talking up the idea of a violent—some sort of violent conflict over this campaign. Is that something the former President is embracing? That answer there was an odd answer. I just didn’t know if you had a better understanding.

JASON MILLER: No Chuck, I think you are framing it incorrectly. President Trump had a very good answer. Let’s talk about the debate for a moment. The fact of the matter—

TODD: I asked you a question. Is he going to tamp down violence, Jason?

[crosstalk]

MILLER: Chuck, Chuck, Chuck. That is. Chuck—That’s an idiot—Chuck, respectfully, respectfully that’s an idiotic question to even go in. President Trump is campaigning on making America great again. We saw the greatest economy that we’ve had in a century, possibly ever when President Trump was in office. He makes it very clear he has more policy videos on his website. He gives speeches, he gives detailed interviews, he takes on the tough battles with tough reporters. He’s actually doing it. And so President Trump — you saw tonight his policies loom large over everybody on that stage. He dominated every answer whether it was about him politically or policywise. And quite frankly I agree with the comments earlier. President Trump looked like a genius by skipping the pig pile tonight and instead doing the interview with Tucker Carlson which by the way Chuck, just hit 87 million views.
