Viral video shows car flying onto San Francisco street, occupants flee crash site: ‘It looked like a scene out of Dukes of Hazard’

Viral video caught the moment a car went flying off a dead-end street in San Francisco and crashed on the pavement below.

Around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, a white four-door sedan was seen speeding down a dead-end street and crashing through a rail barrier. The car briefly flew in the air before crashing at the base of the Sanchez Street Stairs.

The car slammed into trees on a steep hill before crashing on the sidewalk. The vehicle flipped mid-air and landed on its roof. The car knocked down a few trees during the crash.

A witness told KTVU, “It looked like a scene out of ‘Dukes of Hazard.'”

All four of the occupants in the wrecked vehicle fled the scene of the accident.

The San Francisco Fire Department said in a statement, “Replying to the many media outlets calling about this: This was a non-injury collision occurring last night at 7:18 PM. When Truck 7 #SFFDT07 arrived witnesses stated that: ‘all the occupants fled the scene.’ The crew of Truck 7 confirmed no injuries and assisted a tow truck to ensure the safety of the area during the removal of the car.”

Witness Aimee Barber said, “They just walked away. They lucky as hell.”

A local resident said he attempted to help the injured occupants of the car, but they didn’t want any assistance.

Michael Perez told KPIX-TV, “There was a woman pulling out a guy – all bloodied.”

He added, “And the guy had a full face mask – all black, all dressed in black. She was in black.”

He said the man yelled to others in the car, “We have three minutes until the cops come!”

Witness told KTVU that the incident started with an attempted carjacking.

The San Francisco Police Department is urging anyone with information about the car crash to call 415-575-4444 or text an anonymous tip to TIP411.
