A Philadelphia woman opened fire on four suspected burglars she found in her apartment over the weekend.

What are the details?

Police said the woman around 1 a.m. Sunday arrived at her apartment on the 4900 block of Germantown Avenue in the city’s Germantown neighborhood and found four men inside without her permission, WPVI-TV reported.

Amid a confrontation, the woman opened fire — shooting two of the four suspects, all of whom fled the scene, WPVI said.

Officers arrived around 1:30 a.m. and found the woman outside, standing over 48-year-old Jermaine Parker, who had gunshot wounds to his hand and leg, WTXF-TV reported.

A short time later, police found 45-year-old Randy Miller a few blocks away with a gunshot wound to his back, WTXF added.

Both Parker and Miller were taken to Einstein Medical Center and later charged with burglary and related offenses, WTXF said, adding that a weapon was recovered.

Miller was listed in stable but critical condition, WPVI reported.

Police are still looking for the other two men, WTXF said, adding that anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact police.

Police added that the woman’s actions are considered self-defense, and she won’t be charged with any crime, WTXF said.

‘I think she did the right thing’

“I think she did the right thing,” a neighborhood resident identified as Shawanda told WTXF in regard to the woman opening fire on the suspects. “This is my home, this is my safe haven … so to have somebody in my house when I get there, why not?”

Shawanda added to WTXF that “I don’t think she should be charged with anything … nothing should happen to her. Y’all should be looking for the guys that was in her house.”

Landlord Martin Frazier told WTXF that “it’s scary” and “terrifying” and that he “would’ve done the same thing.”

He continued, “I feel like she had the right to do what she had to do to protect her and her family. I mean, I can’t see anybody doing anything different,” WTXF reported.
