Tulsi Gabbard: Assange’s Arrest Is Meant to Intimidate Americans

US

Most Democrats had mixed feelings about Julian Assange back in 2010 when he was exposing American diplomatic secrets, although some insisted upon glamorizing him as some sort of principled whistleblower or truth-teller. Many Democrats hated him with a passion once WikiLeaks became the conduit for the DNC and Podesta e-mails.

But at least one Democratic presidential candidate appeared to strongly object to his arrest today, portraying it as some sort of draconian method of intimidating the American citizenry.

Assange is charged with conspiracy to commit computer fraud.

The 2020 primary is going to push Democrats in some strange directions.
